Afghan Student Gets 20 Years For Blasphemy
Invisible Pink Unicorn writes "Despite nationwide public support for his initial death sentence, a three-judge appeals court has reduced the sentence of Sayed Parwez Kambakhsh to 20 years in prison. Kambakhsh was charged with circulating an article on women's rights that he found online. From the article: 'Family members have said Kambakhsh was beaten and threatened with death until he signed a confession and that local journalists who expressed support for him were warned they would be arrested if they persisted.'"

Hey, euro-suxor-trash, USA is not anything like Europe. For one, we all speak the same language. For seconds, we can kick alls your asses in a heartbeat if we wanted. Thirdsie, Mr. Bush is the boss of the WHOLE of the land, and what he says goes, supported by his court, supported by his legislature. Europe, if anything, is like the wild west of 1880's USA. Backwards, and lawless, with lots and lots of homo-sexuals, and preverts, with a large helping of communists, fascists, and Hilter types. It mostly smells, too.
Even if someone were to intend to commit a crime, they should not be punished unless they actually attempt to carry it out. Everyone should be given a chance, unless you thought Minority Report represented a good idea.
So you believe then that if we had known about 9/11 before hand we should have waited until they actually tried to carry it out? In some cases, stopping a crime when it is attempted is too little too late...
