New Xbox Experience Goes Live
Today, Microsoft launched the New Xbox Experience for Xbox Live. The list of new features includes the streaming of TV shows and movies through Netflix, the ability to install games to the HDD, an avatar system, and the Community Games platform. The launch itself was shaky at first, but most issues have been smoothed out. Sony-owned Columbia Pictures immediately pulled their movie selection, though it may return when a licensing deal gets worked out. Halo 3 developer Bungie pointed out that not all games will run faster when installed to a HDD because of the way the games already interact with the drive.
I agree with the tag. I have a xbox 360, lasted 3 months. Last night after playing a dvd the video went bad at the power down menu and has not came back. I spent half an hour trouble shooting. Defective by design, I belive so. Innefective cooling = dead components. The gpu probably has fried.
Consider yourself blessed if you are sneezed on by a dragon and only get wet, it could have been a fireball.
Not a bad +/- list. Thanks. I think it's worth a mention that - to no fault of MS - Sony pulling Columbia pictures is a big deal. Columbia has A LOT of movies. That's a big hole in content. I hate when corporate squabbles end up screwing over the customer. Hopefully they can get something sorted out. Does Sony honestly think that this move will make more people buy a PS3/less people buy a 360? The irrestible incentive of some Columbia pictures? The whole idea is retarded... Sony is just making me hate on them some more.
