Max Payne 3 Announced For Next Winter
tordavis writes with news that Rockstar Games has announced Max Payne 3 is in the works for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. It's currently planned for this coming winter. Quoting the news release:
"'We're starting a new chapter of Max's life with this game,' said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. 'This is Max as we've never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever. We experience the downward spiral of his life after the events of Max Payne 2 and witness his last chance for salvation.' Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out."
When is winter, where is the developer located, it is America or Europe or what, where? Are they in Australia?
Don't you guys class winter as starting on the 22'nd or something whereas down here in Australia we start our seasons at the start of the month for example.
How about you list the MONTHS, not the seasons, it's not hard and I don't have to wrack my brain to translate stuff back into simple months.
When will this dopey, dopey tradition end? It seems to be a North American thing.
The rest of us use months.
Hmmm, I wonder how this connects to the alternative ending in Max Payne 2? I was very glad to see that after having fought through all three difficultiy levels, you got rewarded with an alternative ending in which the bullet missed Mona Sax's heart. She doesn't die, they kiss and the whole game ends on a cautiously optimistic tone. I always felt that this was how the game was supposed to end, that this was the ultimate reward for Max: finally a slim chance of happiness. Now they seem to disregard this and cast poor Max once again into darkness and dispair. Hmmm... I don't know...

What is fall, is that a funny name for autumn?
It's a wank and it's un-necessary, USE MONTHS PEOPLE.
No kidding. The first game was cool and inventive; the second was rehashed dreck, devoid of meaningful plot and saddled with far too many little "add-on" mechanics that served only to detract from the gameplay experience.
Remember, game designers: more complicated != more fun. In fact, it's usually the opposite.

This is a stupid argument and is making Slashdot stupider. Slashdot is Taco's Blog. I know this is hard for you to grasp, but if the guy who runs it lives in the USA it's pretty reasonable to refer to things from the standpoint of the USA. All you furriners are obviously welcome to use the thing, and you're even welcome to whine about it, but we're not obligated to care.

That's a bunch of crap. Shit, lots of people in this world don't even know what month they were born in. They might know it was a Tuesday. (I know a Kenyan who lives in my town who's like this; apparently it's standard.) Seasons are understood the world-over.
"You're right," Fisheye says. "I should have set it on 'whip' or 'chop.'"
