Bing Search Tainted By Pro-Microsoft Results
bdcny7927 writes "Just as Bing is gaining popularity, some disturbingly pro-Microsoft and anti-Apple search results are rearing their ugly heads. Case in point: a search on Bing for the phrase, 'Why is Windows so expensive?' returned this as the top link: 'Why are Macs so expensive.' That's right. You're not hallucinating."
Google doesn't really seem all that different. It just gets the Mac hate a bit lower down. And are we really going to deliver judgement on the basis of a single search? Doesn't seem very scientific to me!
Also, since when has Google been a paragon of independence in its searches? I seem to recall that searching for anything related to a Google product will return Google's product at or near the top.
Does Google advertise Internet Explorer on Youtube?
This whole topic is a troll. Look, Xboxen are expensive, Microsoft Windows is f*cking expensive, and apparently, Microsoft sucks. I rest my case.
There are two kinds of people: 1) those who start arrays with one and 1) those who start them with zero.
Maybe you should have actually read my post instead of rabidly foaming at the mouth since I didn't automatically bash Microsoft. If you had read what I posted, I specifically said that the first 4 Google results were for why Microsoft software is so expensive, but additionally, that the link to an article on Macs was shown on the first page. Maybe it is you who should be posting AC since you don't even take the time to comprehend anything that might disagree with your hatred of anything from Microsoft. Let me guess, you've never actually made any contributions to open source software or done anything positive have you? It's much easier to hate anyone you disagree with, especially when you come to a site like Slashdot that rewards groupthink. My suggestion is that you go out and contribute something of value, it doesn't even have to be a huge coding project. I personally have reported a bunch of bugs to the KDE team that helped in a very small way to make KDE 4.3 a better release... what have you done?

>>>Bing is just the fox news of search engines.
That's good! If Bing was the CNN or MSNBC of search engines, then virtually every search would lead to the National Socialists website. The CNN/NBC reporters love their "Big Daddy"* government, and their stories are all biased to the assumption we need more government.

This article is garbage ... put the same query on the google search and almost the same results come up. Including Why are Macs so Expensive...
Of course they have a right to do that. And you have a right not to use their service.

Either you're horribly offtopic or you're trying to imply that MS has a right to secretly manipulate search results in their favor
MS has a right to return whatever results they want with Bing. It's a free service. They have no obligation to serve you impartially. Get over your unfounded sense of entitlement.
I am becoming gerund, destroyer of verbs.
They haven't branded it a "search engine" quite possibly for that reason. They call it a "decision engine."
