Court Orders the Pirate Bay To Delete Torrents
lbalbalba writes "A Dutch court ruled today that The Pirate Bay has to remove a list of torrents linking to copyrighted works. The list is to be provided by BREIN (similair to the RIAA, in Holland), and is similar to the earlier ruling against Mininova. The defendants are given three months to comply, if not, they will face penalties of 5,000 euros ($7,500) per person, per day."

I suppose laws are "just pretend" to you as well. So the law that says you can't speed should be unenforceable because your car is clearly capable of speeding. The law that says you can't undress in public should be unenforceable because your clothes are clearly designed to be removable. Opium, Cocaine, Cannabis, etc. being plants or derived from plants are "infinitely reproduceable" (just plant the seeds to grow more), therefore why should it have any value? The very idea that something so easy to do should be considered illegal, and therefore be made valuable is preposterous in your world view, but your world view is not really connected to reality, is it?
Just because you can easily reproduce information does not mean you should have the right to so so. Once you take away the right to reproduce the data, your entire argument collapses like the house of cards it is. Because, while information may be infinitely reproducable, does not make it valueless when the copies are illegal. In addition, many people feel that the creator of the work should be compensated, not the Comcasts and AT&Ts of the world that merely provide the medium for distribution.

Being anti-IP means every developer in the world must work for free. As a pirate, take a stand and work for free for the rest of your life! If you take a paycheck, ever, you are a hypocritical asshole! Oddly enough, that largely sums up pirates; selfish, hypocritical assholes.
Like it or not, developers and musicians are paid by developing and creating software and music. Stealing their work means their opportunities have been reduced, or less profit (took money out of their wallet), or they didn't get paid for their work. This in essence is arguing developers and musicians are here on earth to work for your sole amusement and should never be compensated. That's called slavery asshole. So next time someone hands you a paycheck, say, "no thanks...I'm a pirate...I enjoy being a slave and should not be compensated for my efforts. I'm a selfish piece of shit."

People keep arguing that torrents to copyrighted material are not illegal. Today they are not but clearly they should be. This is exactly the same as driving a get away car for a bunch of bank robbers. You didn't actually rob the bank. You didn't even hold a gun....but you provided the method which the stolen property was used to leave the scene.
Frankly, I'm so tired of the pyramid of lies pirates have created to justify their stealing. Stealing does not help make money for those you steal from. You are not entitled to it. Stealing is not doing a favor for the people whom you steal from. Linking via torrents, or to torrents, is clearly in violation of the spirit of the law. Stealing does hurt musicians and developers. And just about every other lie thieves tell each other to justify their immoral behavior is just down right annoying! Stop it. If you want to be a dick, grow a pair of balls and just admit what you're doing is wrong...
So are you a world class, hypocritical, lying asshole? You can only answer, "no" if you're not stealing (pirating).
