Engineered Bacteria Glows To Reveal Land Mines

MikeChino writes "Sifting through minefields to remove hidden threats is a dangerous, tedious, and expensive process. Scientists at the University of Edinburgh recently announced that they have engineered a strain of bacteria that glows green in the presence of explosives, making mine detection a snap. The new strain of bacteria can be sprayed onto local affected areas or air-dropped over entire fields of mines. Within a few hours the bacteria strain begins to glow wherever traces of explosive chemicals are present."

lol.. I suppose that me not liking the aesthetics of your writing could be the same as "having trouble reading it". I will give it another scan. We don't have many Vista/Windows 7 machines here yet though, it's mostly XP and we've been trouble free for several years I'm happy to say.

Too bad you have alienated God though... I mean, hey: We live in this 'place', this immense unending 'construct' we call "the universe/cosmos" etc. et al, & SOMETHING had to have made it man (imo @ least? That qualifies said being as "GOD")...

It's amazing... Especially w/ all of its "rules" of which we are STILL IN THE DARK OVER on much of it (e.g. gravity, the nature of the center of OUR galazy & star cluster being "dark matter", or a GIANT "singularity/black hole"... & imo @ least?

Yeah we can agree that the Universe is really amazing.. and *something* marvelous must have happened for us to exist here.. but I'm not so sure that god can explain everything - because if god created us, then who created God? Some other God? It is like an infinite loop lol.

Yeah we have our similarities, we both get very defensive. I still think a lot of those AC posts were you, but I can forgive that since we are choosing to be on better terms.
