Is Linux Documentation Lacking?
eldavojohn writes "A number of blog posts are surfacing that are calling out the helpful open source community on their documentation. No, not the documentation for the highly skilled technical people, but the documentation from beginner to apprentice. A two-part series by Carla Schroeder lists bad documentation as 'Linux Bug #1' and advises users to use Google as the documentation. We've discussed before some of open source's documentation being out of date. Is it really as bad as these blogs paint it? Has it come down to using Google before a man page?"
Actually, going to the bottom of any experts-exchange page will give you the full answer. Just keep your Page Down button pressed until the page loads. Like this Linux Wireless question

You can scroll to the bottom of the page listings at Experts-Exchange responses and you will see the answer. Its just filled with clutter to confuse you into buying a subscription but the answers to the question are literally at the bottom of the page.

If nothing else, it is pre-acknowledged that the document may be a little out of date.
This is exactly why I gave up on the linux solution to my HTPC. I just install the Windows softare and 'click' it works.

Average Linux Users Excuse of why "This is A Bad Thing": But.... but.... but.... that's waste and bloated code! My 450KB hard drive will be filled in no time!
Meanwhile the rest of use will go on not caring that the same 30kb of code is being duplicated 10 times on our 2TB disk drive.
If you *need* to be in the commandline, someone has failed.
