Dating Site Cuts Off the Fat

the4thdimension writes "Online dating site BeautifulPeople.com has apparently decided to cancel over 1,500 of its customers because they were found to have put on too much weight this holiday season. The site, which bases its business model on having only attractive people on its site, requires that a user be voted in by current members as being beautiful in a 48 hour period. The site claims that having overweight people on its site is directly damaging to its business model, but promises that expelled members can register again once they lose the weight."

Curses, my plan to sign up using a fictional perfect persona then gradually morph myself into the fat, bald little bastard I really am has been foiled!

I'm fairly certain that only slashdot members would choose to phrase that particular point in terms of set theory.

After the monumental amount of seriously obese people on OkCupid and other dating sites I seriously considered creating a dating site identical to this BeautifulPeople. While it's a shame that the idea has already been done (of course), it's good to see that the idea would have been a successful one.

Then there was the bait and switch that I had on OkCupid... some people have a very loose definition of "athletic". Anyway, I fully support the idea behind this particular dating website.
