Call of Duty: Black Ops Announced
UgLyPuNk writes "In amongst all the lawsuits and signings, Activision and Treyarch have found the time to announce the latest in one of the world's best-selling video game franchises: Call of Duty: Black Ops is due to hit shelves November 9."
The official site has a trailer, which has been dissected for details by the folks at GameTrailers.
This game will:
* have at least half of the playable characters dead by the end of the plot
* have a "shocking" sequence for that extra controversial touch
* not have any dedicated servers
* have a multiplayer section with unbearable lag and bugs exploited within the first hours after the release
* still be most successful game of the year
Let me go get some Astroglide before I have to deal with the DRM that will come with that game. :(
Fool me once, shame on you, you won't fool me twice.
Too bad. I enjoyed World at War very much and was looking forward to the Korean War and/or Vietnam.
None of the last 3 or so have even been good, so what are you talking about?
Infinite time means everything that can happen, will. You being you is absolutely incidental. You do not exist.
This is really pissing me off. This game launches 2 days before Remembrance Day. MW2 launched the day before. I have more than enough respect for veterans and people serving right now, that I'm not going to respect any company that employs such cheap and tasteless marketing tactics. Even if it is the best game ever - they will never see one cent from me for this game nor will I ever play it.
Should they decide to move the release date, I might consider it at some future point. I realize that it is being released Christmas so there is some logical reasoning. It would be welcome to hear from the publisher exactly why this particular date was chosen to launch the game.
I get boycotting a company, but Sony is a brand, all of their subsidiary are manages by different people, I had a great experience with sony's digital camera company but a horrible one with their PlayStation. I'ld consider them different companies when it comes to specific products and not over arching policies.

I don't know about you, but I'm pre-ordering my copy of Call of Duty: Go Fuck Yourself today!
If you announce it to the world.
I can see why you would assume this is a game about covert action, but in reality, it's about combat in total darkness.
They saved a ton of time and money on the graphics.
