H.264 and VP8 Compared
TheReal_sabret00the writes with a snippet from StreamingMedia.com: "VP8 is now free, but if the quality is substandard, who cares? Well, it turns out that the quality isn't substandard, so that's not an issue, but neither is it twice the quality of H.264 at half the bandwidth. See for yourself."
Wow you LOVE patents and corporate shilling, don't you! HD is DVD resolution progressive up to 1920 progressive. But your "so fuck off" shows how much you love that corporate cock up your arse: ANY (and I really do mean *any*) attempt to free people from a coprorate requirement really pisses you off, doesn't it.
PS on the flaming summary, am I reading this right, but it looks like when it was Theora, the problem was it was worse than H.264. But now that it's VP8 and it's NOT worse than H.264, the problem is that it isn't *better*.
Talk about shifting the goalposts.
Guys, H.264 is not better than the next improvement from the MPEG. I guess we shouldn't use H.264, then, hmm?
