Sweden Gets Norway's Worst Doctor

62-year-old Johanne Krogh lost her right to operate in Norway due to 29 cases of malpractice, so she did what any bumbling doctor would. She got a job in Sweden. Managers at her new hospital were apparently unaware of her infamous past. From the article: "In one case, she stormed out on a bleeding patient in the middle of a surgical procedure after losing her temper with a colleague in the operating theater. The incident necessitated two further corrective operations for the patient, who later died after a wound became infected. Also, several of her hip patients reported her to the authorities after emerging from the operating room with legs differing in length by up to four centimeters. Krogh’s errors have so far cost the Norwegian patient insurance system 13 million kronor ($1.7 million)."

      Not true. If the doctors had to buy their own malpractice insurance then she would have been forced out of the profession long ago when she could no longer get insurance.

      Vast majority of 30-40 (depending on which of the two metrics below you choose) places beating the US handily (according to CIA World Factbook...) in life expectancy or infant mortality has socialized medicine. All the while US spends the most per capita on healthcare; not only far from the best, also very inneficient.

      Of course this has NOTHING to do with socialism.

      Though the extreme Right Wing's ability to lie, cheat and steal in order to make anything disreputable seem like "socialism" is a very successful tactic that you neoconservatives have used over the decades.

      Unfortunately this incident has more to do with the more familiar practice of hiring lazy and incompetent people to be in Management and Human Resource Management positions.

      The ironic thing is that people who tend to get these high paying managerial positions tend to be Right Wing like yourself, and tend to get success through lying, stealing, and cheating (an over-simplification perhaps, but basically true). No socialism here.
