Apple Reverses Rejection of Ulysses Comic
gyrogeerloose writes "In yet another of what's become an almost predictable cycle of events, Apple today reversed its rejection of the 'Ulysses Seen' web comic, admitting, 'We made a mistake.' The comic is now available in the App Store — just in time for Bloomsday, June 16. The comic's author, Robert Berry, is pleased, and adds that Apple 'never acted as a censor, never told us what we could or could not say. ... We didn't believe these were good guidelines for art, but respected their rights to sell content that met their guidelines at their own store. Apple is not a museum or a library for new content then, so much as they are a grocer.'"
I know this sounds US centric, so excuse me:
the problem with many Americans right now, they think that whatever they want, no matter if it impacts any one else, is the American way. that is way socialism creeps in, why we have a zillion laws out there. Many people think they have the right to whatever they want. Entitlement is the destruction of a democracy and free market system.
companies have rights too. If a company or organization don't want to sell something, that is their right.
I am sure many people don't want to be forced into a particular occupation, but I feel it is the same thing as forcing a company to sell anything. As a worker in the job market, your product is your line of work, typically. So how would you feel if you where a programmer and you are told you have to work here 1 hour a week cleaning toilets (unrelated to your current employer and not by your current employer)? Otherwise, you are censoring!
That many American reports on this did not show images of the manhood in question either.
