California Wants To Put E-Ads On License Plates

techmuse writes "The San Jose Mercury News reports that the California state legislature wants to put electronic advertising on license plates. The plate would display standard plate information when the car is moving, but would also display ads when the car is stopped for more than 4 seconds (say, at a red light). Not distracting or annoying at all! 'The bill has received no formal opposition. It passed unanimously through the Senate last month and is scheduled to be heard Monday by the Assembly Transportation Committee.'"

Open state offices for more than 4 days a week? Get criminal cases through courts faster? Put people back to work on state based jobs? Fix the roads? Lower restrictions on joining civil services so that more people can work?

GENIUS! Your plan will work really well. Politicians have a monetary stake in setting speed limits so you will stick it to them by driving faster.

Why not just go to your local government office and donate money to them? Or simply not fill out a tax return this year. It'll work just as well and you won't be putting any other lives in danger.

By the way: YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT
And I hope someone runs over your kids while speeding in a built up area just so you know what it feels like.
