AU Government Censors Document On Planned Web Snooping

MrPPS writes "The Australian Government plans to force ISPs to record and retain all citizens' communications traffic. The Sydney Morning Herald requested that the proposed policy documents be released under Freedom of Information laws. What they received was a document that was 90% censored, in order to prevent 'premature unnecessary debate.' More discussion on the Greyhat Security site. Offtopic?! You even read the goddamn link? There's a whole bunch of people here who think voting in the Greens will bring some sanity to their government, and I'm just trying to show them that they're way off base.

The elections are coming soon. It would do you good to throw these Greens out before more people start believing whatever crap they're telling you now. That is if you actually believe in civil liberties, because they'll rip 'em right out from under you a hell of lot quicker than any Tory, Conservative, or Republican. They are as corrupt as it gets. Not just Australia, but Germany too, and Mexico, where they allied with that country's most corrupt political party. In the US? I can assure you the tea party is no worse. These (Greens) are the kind of people that real fascism arises from. You'd better watch them real close, because you'll be in for a real surprise if you don't, and you won't like it one bit. Their platform means nothing with people like Mr. Hamilton on their ticket. If they were to ever gain any real power, that platform will change quite dramatically. It's bait and switch, just like how the democrats did in the the US.
