nonprofiteer writes "Mattel's holiday creation is Video Girl Barbie, which comes with a hidden camera installed in Barbie's torso. The lens is disguised as a necklace. The Barbie can hold up to 30 minutes of video, and then can be hooked up to a computer for uploading. Experts are worried about pedophiles taking advantage of posted Barbie footage. I'm worried about the havoc that little girls with hidden cameras are going to wreak."
Are these experts from the same league as acclaimed "republican strategists" from Fox News?
I've never heard of anything so stupid. I can see the witch hunt is alive and well.

Also your link doesn't say a word about pedophiles, and Fisher Price already makes little pink video cameras for toddlers 3 and up and the Nintendo DS has had a camera since 2008. Fisher Price even had a camera for kids 8 and up way back in 1987
If you're worried about children taking inappropriate photos or videos and uploading them it's too late, cameras have been marketed to kids for many years and I haven't heard any stories about young children uploading inappropriate videos. More fear mongering at it's best, what's next souping and trampolining?

Well to be fair you can get a 640x480 webcam-quality recorder shaped like a car starter for approximately 15$... so it's not like this level of surveillance wasn't possible until now... ...
But it does make me cringe to think about gifts from creepy stepfathers.
