WikiLeaks Under Denial of Service Attack

wiredmikey writes "WikiLeaks has reported that its Web site is currently under a mass distributed denial of service attack. The attack comes around the time of an expected release of classified State Department documents, which the Obama administration says will put 'countless' lives at risk, threaten global counterterrorism operations and jeopardize US relations with its allies."

Nontransparent governments may be legal, but in my opinion, it's still wrong.

Besides, apparently some of President Bush's activities are included. If he did any major wrongdoings in office, he should be made to face the consequences.

What wikileaks is doing is un-American and is the same as supporting terrorism. I would not be surprised to learn that Assange operated a death camp in 42 and is one of those Nazis on the run with a fake identity.
Seriously, it disgusts me that people would do this to our country. We're the USA, the mother-fucking good guys! It's obvious what we do is right. Sometimes people are too stupid to realize that, so of course we must act in secret for the good of the world and of our allies. How many more times to we have to save the world before people understand we are the good guys? Next time you idiots elect Hitler, you can liberate yourselves! Ungrateful hypocrites. You owe us your freedom and safety and that's how you thank us...

Your attitude is naive and idiotic. Regardless of your feelings, there are dangerous and evil men in the world. Overall, The United States is the greatest force for good in this world. The free press has traditionally been an excellent force to keep American voters informed and hold politicians accountable for their actions/policies.

Wikileaks does none of these things. All that Wikileaks does is undermine the efforts of the United States and the West to safeguard and make the world a better place. Make no mistake, these actions strengthen those who stand opposed to us who would like to see their own personal fortunes/power grow at the expense of democratic/free nations.

You may be opposed to specific US/Western policies but, frankly, it's the best we have. Your protests remind me of the Churchill quote: "democracy is the worst form of government except for all of the others".

im expecting a certain level of aptness and awareness from anyone participating in this forum, due to the level of affiliation with technology that finding and wanting to hang out in this place requires.

as a result of this, i find it infuriating, beyond comprehension that there may be still people who are unaware of the past and ongoing filth on this planet, despite its a fucking google search away. so simple to access.

and when someone like this comes and reiterates and insists on some bullshit, the very kind of bullshit that allowed these filth to come into being in the first place,

i call asshole. or, fuck off. or, screw you.

because, i am a human being with emotions. not an automated truth dispenser unit at the wake of insisted, self-inflicted ignorance of those who prefer that.

anyone who doesnt like that, should take the very easy option to educate themselves, so, they do not incur emotions like that in other people, like me.

I'll stand by what I say. I think just dumping hundreds of thousands of communiques between diplomats in foreign embassies and the State Department is a bad idea. It will sow distrust with allies, will make diplomats and embassy staff fearful to honestly communicate their observations and opinions, and for what?
