Shoplifter Gets Caught When Her Mobility Cart Gets Stuck
Police in Rochester Hills, Michigan caught one of the state's biggest and worst driving shoplifters this week. 400-pound Jerrie Perkins was caught with more than $600 of merchandise after getting her mobility scooter stuck while trying to make a getaway. From the article: "A sheriff’s deputy arrived and asked Perkins to put her hands behind her back, but she 'cursed at the deputy, balled her right hand into a fist and took a fighting stance,' according to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office. The deputy pulled his Taser and told Perkins to put her hands behind her back, but Perkins brought her fist up over her head and looked directly at the deputy. The deputy Tasered Perkins, who then complied with the deputy’s commands and was taken to jail."
I can just imagine the way this played out.
It has all the makings of a South Park episode. Insert Cartman in the role of the nefarious scooter operator and the rest is gravy.
Nah - you're right this is already gold. If there is video this will BLOW up on the internets.
I went to battle M.C. Escher, but drew a blank.
Because "being too fat to walk" is now considered a valid disability!
I've abandoned my search for truth; now I'm just looking for some useful delusions.
They should give her the chair!
Maybe I'm a jerk, but I think instead of tasing her I'd have pushed her cart over.
I was hoping to see video of the tasering. The thought of that thieving blob of crud on the ground twitching and screaming makes me smile. Porky societal leeches like that should be airlifted to the Serengeti to feed the cheetahs and hyenas, which would also make entertaining video.
She wouldn't have got her cart stuck if she was riding in a custom conversion mobility tank chair!! Enjoy...
Roll one D6 for difficult terrain.
1: you fail, your fat ass is stuck.
Isn't 200 pounds of tasered meat and fat jerking uncontrollably in all directions more dangerous then the futile attempt of a chubby who needs wheeled support to move around to punch you?
A 400lb woman who is confined to a scooter is clearly not a threat to the officer, regardless of whatever physically offensive posture she might take while seated.
Use of the taser was clearly not justified in this incident, and the officer should be charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
