Jeff Bezos Calls Sales Tax Requirements On Amazon Unconstitutional

Steve1960 writes "Amazon.com chief Jeff Bezos says the online retailer won't collect tax from most of its 90 million customers until Congress clearly mandates it. Although a growing number of states are demanding that Amazon collect and remit tax on sales within their borders, such demands are 'interference in interstate commerce' and prohibited by the Constitution, Bezos said."

The poor pay no taxes in the US of any type and then on top of that receive direct payments in the form of cash and services which completely offset any of the local and state taxes before you start frothing at the mouth over that..

The only "backs" the budget is on are those that work.

We could tax those paying taxes now at 100% tax rate and we'd still have a budget shortfall.

Stop paying for the poor "aka the useless dreggs of society" and magically the budget becomes a surplus.

    Funny how tha works out.

This is really great. It's about time someone challenged this crazy ad hoc sales tax system and Amazon has the weight to do it. Well done Jeff.

Yeah, well done Jeff. Washington state's budget is in the toilet, and facing huge deficits, so STFU and pay your fucking taxes. You can use all that money you made off your brilliant 'one click checkout' patent...

Sure, the state sales tax system is a mess, but if I tried this sort of crap with the IRS, I would be arrested in about 15 minutes. Just because he is rich, he doesn't have to lobby congress to affect change like other people?
