Company Fined €25,000 For Altering Wikipedia
hcs_$reboot writes "A French court ordered a company to pay 25,000 Euros to a competitor about which she had removed the name of a Wikipedia entry dedicated to her field. Hi-Media, the defendant, was identified thanks to her IP address found from the Wikipedia page."
Oh, cry some more. Nobody fucking cares if your pet article got deleted. Wikipedia is much better now that people have actually started trying to enforce some notability, neutrality, and strong sources. Beforehand, it was a complete and utter joke, and now it actually has some respectability. Once all the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Trek articles have been deleted, it will be an even better site.
Yes, yes, go ahead and say it: I represent everything wrong with Wikipedia, and I am evil incarnate. I take glee in making little babies like you cry and leave in a huff. You never would have contributed to a relevant article, anyway. The fewer people we have writing articles about obscure Buffy characters, the better. YOUR ARTICLES WERE A WASTE OF SPACE, AND I'M GLAD THEY'RE GONE. BWAHAHAHA.
