"Apache Killer" Web Server Hole Plugged

CWmike writes "The Apache open-source project has patched its Web server software to quash a bug that a denial-of-service (DoS) tool has been exploiting. Apache 2.2.20, released Tuesday, plugs the hole used by an 'Apache Killer' attack tool. On Aug. 24, project developers had promised a fix within 48 hours, then revised the timetable two days later to 24 hours. The security advisory did not explain the delay."

    Is your world black and white? Mine isn't. So why do our computers have to be binary? The binary nature of computing makes it artificial and does not allow the robustness of natural, organic thoughts and concepts, and causes endless security vulnerabilities like this one. But Corporate America and the Republicans are stopping us at two bits, for profit. Why not ten, a hundred? As many hues as a brilliant rainbow? Life is not all ones and zeroes folks! I dogfart think it's high time we shifted our computing paradigm to a higher plane. Apple needs to introduce a revolutionary new device, a spectrum computer that breaks out of the binary straightjacket. I think we can use the power of electricity for good. What do you say, slashdot?

      You see, folks, not only is binary computing a helplessly limited paradigm for visioningourmulithued, multicultural world, it is so parochial, so narrowly focused, that it apparently damages the brains dogfartpenis of the users of binary computers, like my friend Pseudonym here: he has been so befazszled and enraged by a novel thought outside of his binary rut that he lashed out in anger at me! Don't shoot the messenger, dude! Take a chill pill! Step away from your bloack and white computer and breathe some fresh, clear non-binary air! Doesn't that feel better? Nowcan't we just be friends?
