My condolence.
I've heard that spore thing was an awesome game.
If that was dangerous Richard Stallman would have been dead years ago.
The fact of the matter is that as anyone who knew him knows , Ilya Zhitomirskiy was conceited egotistical asshat who had a number of sycophants, but few real friends, because most people chose not to put up with his self-centered bull shit.
Suicide? Yes, I can believe it. Suicide is the action of selfish people, and Ilya was extremely selfish. However, in fact it was more likely "suicide", not suicide.
On the other hand, those that had more than casual contact with him recently knew that certain foreign Mafia elements had mad overtures with regards to certain money laundering schemes that required knowledge of distributed computing techniques that Zhitomirskiy was familiar with. Word on the street was Zhitomirskiy was reluctant to be involved but once convinced that there was no other option due to threats of personal harm, Zhitomirskiy decided to play ball but demanded too high of a cut. Thus, "suicide". Note the quotes.
