Will Secure Boot Cripple Linux Compatibility?
MojoMax writes "The advent of Windows 8 is drawing ever nearer and recently we have learned that ARM devices installed with Windows 8 will not be able to disable the UEFI secure boot feature that many of us are deeply concerned about. However, UEFI is still a very real danger to Linux and the freedom to use whichever OS you chose. Regardless of information for OEMs to enable customers to install their own keys, such as that published by the Linux Foundation, there are still very serious and as yet unresolved issues with using secure boot and Linux. These issues are best summarized quoting Matthew Garrett: 'Signing the kernel isn't enough. Signed Linux kernels must refuse to load any unsigned kernel modules. Virtualbox on Linux? Dead. Nvidia binary driver on Linux? Dead. All out of tree kernel modules? Utterly, utterly dead. Building an updated driver locally? Not going to happen. That's going to make some people fairly unhappy.'"
How am I advocating for Microsoft by asking if there will be preinstalled Linux tablets? Dumb.
You are pathetic. You can't risk the karma of your precious Bonch/SharkLaser/Overly Critical Guy user accounts, which you need to pull your PR crap of a job astroturfing slashdot, so you resort to ridiculous personal attacks through an AC to see if I get modbombed.
And all this to try to get some revenge for me pointing out the obvious: that all those accounts are controlled by the same person/organization, which I've made here and here.
But it appeas that what got you rilled up was my post where I point out that the bonch/SharkLaser/Overly Critical Guy accounts are used to manipulate discussions.
But as it appears you are enjoying it, I'll repeat what I've said before: The Overly Critical Guy account and bonch accounts are continously used to push the same propaganda points, to the point that they are even used post messages based on the same script. See this post from Overly Critical Guy and compare it to this post by bonch. Notice the similarities pointed out in this post.
And the best part, you don't even realize that your recent full-fledged persecution on me and coordenated modbombing campaign, even in discussions where aforementioned your shill accounts have been used to post, is a clear sign that I stuck a nerve in calling out your coordinated astroturfing and manipulation campaign.
So keep up the trolling, whether you post through your Bonch/SharkLaser/Overly Critical Guy accounts or through AC. The more you cringe, the more people will be aware of how your organization have been engaged in manipulating slashdot users.
Slashdot, fix your code or at least hire someone who is competent at it to do it for you.
I am not accusing the bonch/Overly Critical Guy/SharkLaser user accounts of being shills just because they are engaged in a system to manipulate PR favourable to Microsoft. It's a bit more blatant than that.
These bonch/Overly Critical Guy accounts are patently engaged in a cooperative effort to push MS propaganda and astroturf slashdot because they have been repeatedly caught posting from the same script, as pointed out in this post and in this post. They screwed up and now they were outed, and now they are persecuting me for pointing out the obvious in a previouis discussion.
Slashdot, fix your code or at least hire someone who is competent at it to do it for you.
