Kinect 2 Sensor Output Image Leaks

New submitter rabok writes "If a Microsoft job posting can be believed, we are set to get a new Xbox on store shelves by March 2014 at the latest. Regardless of when it does eventually arrive, it seems an image claiming to be the output of a Kinect 2 has hit the web by a user on twitter. Kinect 2 is expected to be much more accurate — even able to see individual fingers, read lips, and gauge moods. This image seems to back up that improvement in both depth perception and the ability to distinguish individual fingers."

It is bad enough that when I got out in public there is a camera on every corner and inbetween the corners. Now I have a device that is not only able to watch me but is actively spying, interpreting, and reporting back to who knows? AND in my own home.

There are enough spying devices in the home already. Every laptops has a Mic and camera built in and lets not forget that all or almost all cell phones have Mics and cameras that can be remotely activated too. Not to mention these are being actively used to track by police and other entities (like Wallmart).

Is nothing private any more? The obvious is no. Although that isn't an acceptable answer. While I might put life above all else when it comes to survival do you really want to live in a world which subjects you to constant surveillance and punishment? We are already too safe from the things which are being portrayed as making us safer. Dangerous which exist today are largely overblown. People should not have to conform for a minor to insignificant improvement in numbers. We don't need more conformity. Having a diverse set of individuals from risk takers to conservatives is a good thing. It propels society forward.
