Liberated Pixel Cup Code Winners Announced

After a laborious judging process, the Liberated Pixel Cup has finally announced the winners of the code contest. Out of the 48 entries, Lurking Patrol Comrades (now Source of Tales), a "MMORPG with a vast world, plenty of characters to speak to, both a melee and a magic based battle system, and a polished user interface," won the grand prize. The best HTML5 game was Big Island, written in Dart and playable directly from Github. The art prizes were given last August in case you missed it. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

There are screenshots at the very first link, fragboy, but you don't want to look at them. Hint: do you remember when DOS was the gaming platform of choice?

Oh? How? The Big Island page has a non-clickable link (!) to the repository page, which you then have to scroll down to the bottom of . There, there are three options, and I presume the "Easy way" is meant to be the directly playable one, since there's nothing else to download according to the instructions. Click on it, however, and all I get is a black page. Does it require Chrome?

      http://seveibar.github.com/liberated-pixel-cup/ is the link.

The playable link goes to opengameart, where you have to go to github, then find the right link on the bottom.
Come on mods, actually EDIT the submissions for correctness. That at least is not censorship and does not go against any libertarian leanings.

The website for Source of Tales lacks screenshots--a major omission for a game with graphics. I would've modded grandparent up if I had the points.

In the intro, there are NPCs wandering. At one point the into flew over a bridge. NPCs on the ground were blocked by the water. Two NPC's on the bridge walked right off and walked on the water.
It may not be a bug though. The game may have two Jesuses!

Our server is a rather weak vserver designed for testing only. We also know some bugs that are already fixed. But since we run the server on the old judging status those are not fixed yet. So our server goes down rather easily at the moment. We prepare for an update now. The judging end caught us by surprise a bit so we are unprepared. We are working on resolving this issues now!

Sorry. We were caught by surprise. We only managed to bring up a "Thanks" message yesterday. We got a single screenshot online for now as a start. We will try to put more info / screenshots on the website now/the next days.

The game does not even have to be built - only the engine.

The engine is not any harder to build then say, PHP and Apache, which are requirements to play the HTML5 entries.
