H_Fisher writes "What do you do when your daughter wants the girl to be the hero of your old video game? If you're Mike Mika, you hack the game ROM to reverse the roles. He even changed the 'M' at the top of the screen to a 'P.'"

    ...I'd be mildly impressed. But this is the typical case where a man makes a woman look strong. Nothing to see here, move along.

    I beg to differ. Parenting is about teaching, not catering.

    If he TAUGHT her how to hack the game and she did it, then I'd be like "Parenting - you're doing it right." But to just give her this interesting gift? Let's just hope it's not a life-long pattern for either of them. Doing nice things is nice. Not saying that. But have you ever seen a child get angry because they didn't like the gift they were given? I have. Creepy. And you have to wonder how it got that way.

    The father's an amature.

    Let me know when he's managed to download, install, patch and crack ALL the Sims3 series, plus all the clothes, to a laptop that isn't really fast enough to run the game. When he's spent all day doing that, because the installs have to be done in a specific, secret order, let me know.

    Hex editting is just a case of picking a number between 0 and 255. Child's play.
