Zuckerberg Lobbies For More Liberal Immigration Policies

An anonymous reader writes "Mark Zuckerberg, along with other notables such as Google's Eric Schmidt, Yahoo's Marissa Mayer and Reid Hoffman, co-founder of Linkedin, has launched a new immigration reform lobbying group called FWD.us. In an editorial in the Washington Post, Zuckerberg claims that immigrants are the key to a future knowledge-based economy in a United States which currently has 'a strange immigration policy for a nation of immigrants.' As expected, they are calling for more of the controversial H-1B visas which reached their maximum limit in less than a week this year, but those aren't the only things they're looking to change."

Bring back long term contracts for STEM employees at high wages

Go fuck yourself. This arrogant attitude is EXACTLY what lead this situation you put yourself in. You are not special, you are not unique, you do not make the world go round, you do not deserve 'high wages' just 'because'. With RARE exceptions, it is not a job that is dangerous, the only real stress is entirely self induced in 99.5% of the IT workers in existence, and almost all of you have this retarded opinion that you are magically worth a metric fuckton of money each year because you know how to use a computer.

Guess what. In 1980, you would have been worth money with what you know now because no one else knew it. Now ... my 8 year old can probably code you under the table (and me too for that matter). There are 15 people more qualified than you who want your job and are happy to do it for 1/10th as much because its FAR better than what they are doing now. And thousands more who can do it just like you for less still.

The days where you were something special are 20 years over, you're a commodity now. Deal with it or we will replace you and you'll regret being such an arrogant idiot. You will be replaced, they may not come to America and take your job, the jobs will just move there and then you'll be doubly fucked. It will be well deserved. There is no reason that these jobs have to be done on this particular plot of land.
