Slashdot Killed My Kickstarter Campaign

New submitter agizis writes "Alex from Connectify here. I wanted to say thanks to all of you who commented on the Slashdot story about our Kickstarter campaign It was super-educational discussing Switchboard with all of you: you wanted your own servers, and we weren't doing enough to communicate what was so special about Switchboard. Based in a large part on your feedback, we blew up our Kickstarter campaign, and changed almost everything. Thanks, Slashdot. This isn't reddit, but ask me anything."

Slashdot has generally become a hangout for hecklers and no-nothings who simply do not know what they are talking about regards new ideas and technology. I wish I had no experience but I have it too. This site is all too often for the rude and ignorant to claim they know. I have been commented on at least 3 times on Slashdot. Every time the ignorant fools held sway and well heckling is alive and well. You have my sympathy but please know the behavior.
If you want a good idea to win, stay off Slashdot in trying to get it out.

I will follow on by noting several things. Slashdot was site where people repeatedly heckled LENR (Cold Fusion) Folks it works and is about to be mainstream everyday stuff. Slashdot was a site where people were cut down for even a typo. Wrong! Bad Behavior for sure! Slashdot has consistently sided with the modern energy industry who has delivered us the most stunning of disasters. They denied for months the Macondo Well blowout was blowing over 5,000 BPD. This was despite obvious fact to the contrary.

Notice to investors: If an Idea is panned on Slashdot, that is probably the best indicator that it is a good place to put your money.
