Verizon Ordered To Provide All Customer Data To NSA

Rick Zeman writes "According to Wired, an order by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court '...requires Verizon to give the NSA metadata on all calls within the U.S. and between the U.S. and foreign countries on an "ongoing, daily basis" for three months.' Unlike orders in years past, there's not even the pretense that one of the parties needed to be in a foreign country. It is unknown (but likely) that other carriers are under the same order."

what the hell, people have a really rosy view of the military in here.

when bush invaded iraq, which was clearly illegal in every possible way, the miliatry said nothing, did nothing, cared nothing.

instead they stacked CDs of the Dixie Chicks in a big pile and burned them.

those people would not blink an eye before shooting a crowd full of 'their fellow americans' if they were told to do it.

did you not see the Occupy Wall Street protests? they were spraying kids right in the face with pepper spray for no reason.

Correction, we don't LEGALLY KNOW what Bush' DOJ requested.. Because they claimed an order like this was a secret by itself and revealing the order was breaching national security.,

This is probably the routine data scoop that's been going on since '02.

And under Bush, they showed up to lock you In a room until the NSA completed the download themselves. There was no time allowed to "as the legal department" and no court would recoznize your right to appeal what letter?

This just shows Obama's DoJ is finally losing its teeth... And of course big companies can finally complain to Republicans that will pretend this never happened before now that the other team is using the same plays.
