Administration Seeks To Make Unauthorized Streaming A Felony

wabrandsma writes "From the Washington Post: 'You probably remember the online outrage over the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) copyright enforcement proposal. Last week, the Department of Commerce's Internet Policy Task Force released a report on digital copyright policy that endorsed one piece of the controversial proposal: making the streaming of copyrighted works a felony. As it stands now, streaming a copyrighted work over the Internet is considered a violation of the public performance right. The violation is only punishable as a misdemeanor, rather than the felony charges that accompany the reproduction and distribution of copyrighted material.'"

    Informative mod? No, ignorant.

Bradley Manning is in the US military. Different set of laws. They can hold his ass for 10 million years without sentencing. Legally. If they want. He shouldn't have signed up if he wasn't willing to accept that, he most certainly shouldn't have broken his oath and the law by transmitting classified documents to someone else without being prepared to take the lashes that comes with it.

Assange is a fucking douche, the sooner you get that through your thick ass skull the better. He is not about freedom of information, he's about whatever gets the most attention for Julian. He could easily be done with all this shit, except he's basically saying 'I don't care about the law, I'll do what I want'. He doesn't play well with others, anyone. Whats good for everyone else is not good for Julian. His 'detainment' could be resolved in 24 hours. Instead he keeps making retarded statements like OMFG MERICA! and morons like you keep sucking the shit straight out of his asshole for it.

Jeremy Hammond is nothing more than a trouble maker who uses politics as an excuse. Again, you're a moron for giving a shit about the predicament he has gotten himself into. These situations don't find him, he goes and seeks out ways to get in trouble while pretending he's 'sticking it too the man'. His history however shows he's nothing more than a trouble making asshole.

You, and anyone who thinks like you, are just uppity morons too stupid to let facts cloud your 'OMG THE MAN SUCKS DOWN WITH THE MAN!@%!^#!@#^' crap.

They did ask. In fact, they asked him not to leave the country ... his response was to promptly flee the country and then talk about how THEY weren't accommodating HIM.

Get a fucking clue, you're nothing more than his tool and too stupid to realize it.

The US really doesn't give a fuck about him. You're a moron to think we do. If we actually cared about Assange, he would have been dead 2 years ago. We don't fuck around with court cases for shit like that, we just fucking kill him in a way that looks like an accident. We don't have a problem with doing it either.

If we wanted assange, we'd have had him 2 years ago and told you to go fuck yourself if you didn't like it.

    We don't want him.

NO ONE FUCKING WANTS HIM, hence why he's living in some embassy. Far enough away that he's not going to cause any real trouble for the host country and sure as hell not IN the host country. Ecuador is just using him as a shitty pawn, his usefulness is pretty much long gone, he'll be news whoring soon enough to find someone else to 'protect' him.

You're right, they should totally go chase down the guy who fled the country after specifically being told not to even leave town.

Totally Swedens fault, no responsibility of Assange at all.

    God you're an idiot.
