Extinct Species of Early Human Survived On Grass Bulbs, Not Meat
Philip Ross writes "Fresh analysis of an extinct relative of humans suggests our ancient ancestors dined primarily on tiger nuts, which are edible grass bulbs, settling a discrepancy over what made up prehistoric diets. According to a new study published in the journal PLOS One, the strong-jawed ancient hominin known as Paranthropus boisei, nicknamed 'Nutcracker Man,' which roamed East Africa between 2.4 million and 1.4 million years ago, survived on a diet scientists previously thought implausible."

All joking aside, animal penises are widely eaten in Africa, India, and other Asian nations. They're considered a delicacy there, and are highly sought after by the rich and poor alike. This is particularly true of the elephant penis, which is large enough to feed a family for several days (thus appealing to the poor), but also quite rare and succulent (appealing to the rich).
They generally use the entire penis, but you can get different "cuts" of it in some areas, much like a North American or British butcher will give you different cuts of a cow or pig. If you have a hankering for just the glans of a horse penis, you can get it and snack on it. If you want just the shaft of a dog, you can get that, too. In some markets, there are specialized vendors of certain types of penises, and even certain cuts of certain animal penises. It can be a highly specialized industry in some cases.
Some people even eat the penises thinking that it'll increase their virility. After all, if a man manages to eat all 48 inches of an elephant's penis, it must mean he's quite a robust man, does it not?
