Lucas Nussbaum Re-Elected As Debian Project Leader

An anonymous reader writes "For the last 6 weeks the Debian developers have had an election to determine the new Debian Project Leader. The election is now over and Lucas Nussbaum was re-elected. As always in Debian, the result of the voting was found using the Condorcet method."

I have not heard of Lucas Nussbaum or Neil McGovern before, but if retaining Lucas Nussbaum at the helm means Debian will continue to release what is IMO the best Linux server distribution out there, then there are no complaints from me.

I worked at the same place as lucas in the past. Clearly he knows his stuff and knows to deal with complex situations. He did a lot for QA in Debian.

I wholeheartedly agree. Also, McGovern puts the -Mc in Govern, so he's probably the man for the job.

Debian never does anything that really jumps out at you. The more time passes, the more I appreciate that and realize how valuable it is. Gentoo and Ubuntu were cool for a while, but here it is 2014 and I'm back with Debian, same as 10 or maybe even 15 years ago.

I'm sure they've issued some updates since then.

Only on Testing and Unstable. Ha ha, that's a Debian joke.

Rumor has it they'll be upgrading to the 2.2 kernel series before too long.

I jest, I jest -- jeezus! Debian folks have no self-deprecating sense of humor.
