Chinese Scientists Claim To Have Genetically Modified Human Embryos
Annanag writes: There were rumours — but now it's been confirmed. Chinese scientists have attempted the ethically questionable feat of genetically modifying human embryos. The scientists try to head off ethical concerns by using 'non-viable' embryos, which cannot result in a live birth, obtained from local fertility clinics. The study is a landmark — but also a cautionary tale.
Don't forget that the writers of Greek myths and Jewish folktales were the very fabulists who invented God.
God invented them (Greeks and Jews - and the others), then revealed to them (to Greeks with "Logos (logic)" and to Jews as "Theos (God)" - and to others in the same or other ways), so they (Greeks and Jews - and others) "discovered" God!
But since God revealed to Greeks with "Logos (logic)", reading some Greek mythology helps understand why biologists/geneticists of today use some standardized terms from it, especially for some ethically questionable outcomes (i.e., monsters!)...
Unfortunately most non-Greeks (and many Greeks - myself included i am afraid) fail to understand the -yes, fundamentally- scientific (and philosophical) "spirit" of Greek mythology, in the same way humans -including Jews- fail to understand God's wisdom as revealed in the Jewish "mythology" (with its more "ethical" and less philosophical -and even lesser, but still existing in some ways and degree, scientific- spirit).
I had to look up in a dictionary (because my English are not so good) the word "fabulists" and its first meaning is "a person who invents or relates fables" and its second meaning is "a liar" - then i look up the word "fables" and (besides secondary meanings - "a story not founded on fact", "an untruth; falsehood") most of its primary meanings is about... Greeks (and their fables - and as a Greek i understands their truth).
