Ticked off you can't run more than 64GB in your PC? We just smashed through that barrier and went all the way to 128GB of system RAM.

With that high density of ram and no Error Correcting Code (ECC), you might be able to write software to turn your 128GB of ram into a cosmic ray detector!

True. 8 modules of unbuffered non-ECC RAM is only granting you one thing: bragging rights for being a fucking idiot ricer.

If you want to actually use that RAM reliably, you need the buffering/registers and you better have ECC. That's why the servers have it. They're not slower just for the sake of being slower. Higher module density becomes problematic for data integrity.

There are games needing 40-50GB of space, your RAM Drive with 28GB leftover RAM is not going to cover it.
It was 640KB of RAM being enough for a PC that people wrongly attribute to Bill Gates. That rumor really refuses to die.
