Japanese Court Orders Google To Delete Past Reports Of Man's Molestation Arrest
AmiMoJo writes: The Saitama District Court has ordered Google Inc. to delete past reports on a man's arrest over molestation from its online search results after ruling that they violate the man's personal rights. The man, who was arrested about three years ago after molesting a girl under 18, and fined 500,000 yen (£2600, $4000). "He harbors remorse over the incident and is leading a new life. The search results prevent him from rehabilitating himself," the man's defense counsel said. The presiding judge recognized that the incident was not of historical or social significance, that the man is not in public office and that his offense was relatively minor. He concluded there was little public interest in keeping such reports displayed online three years after the incident. The judge acknowledged that search engines play a public role in assisting people's right to know.

Kill all humans. Because any one of us can be the next perpetrator. Any one of us can make the next victim. The only pragmatic solution is to end humanity.
PS - "playing the world's smallest violin for the scumbags who have decided to inflict horrific pain on another human being" goes hand-in-hand with caging ANY human being. There's a reason the DoI says: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." It'd single out the criminals. It was the pragmatism of the US Constitution and the recognition of "necessary evil" to punish but only under "due process of law" and "nor cruel and unusual punishment inflicted".
Even if we acknowledge it a necessary act to cage those for a time pragmatically, we should as well recognize that it isn't about pain upon them nor "zero chance of additional attacks". Honestly, this is precisely why the GP's post wasn't a "big strawman designed to make the parent poster look bloodthirsty for simply wanting justice". It's clear you're bloodthirsty no matter how much you try to paint what you do as pure pragmatism. Because, as I tongue-in-cheek stated, nothing but the extermination of the human species will guarantee that sort of pragmatic end. Anything less is a compromise. Honestly, done right extermination would be the most humane--ie, pain free--way. Yet it's obviously wrong. It's not hyperbole to discuss this. It's to help you realize that what you want has more to do with primal urges of vengeance than any real sense of justice. I can understand that and would never claim to be above those feelings. But, really, re-examine what you want.
