Ice-Age Fossils Unearthed At Construction Site In California

An anonymous reader writes: Constructions workers in Carlsbad, CA. have recently discovered Ice Age mammoth and prehistoric bison fossils during an excavation. The fossils were taken to the San Diego Museum of Natural History for examination and storage. "The bison fossil, which includes a skull and partial skeleton, is the most unusual and probably the most complete of the larger animals found at the project site. These are big animals, much larger than modern plains bison," said curator of paleontology at the San Diego Museum of Natural History, Tom Deméré.

Just what every project manager wants to hear, "Everybody go home we found some bones. We'll call you when you can come back".

Most people that believe in God do not reject science.

Except when it comes to their particular precious little unfounded beliefs, which they have to retain so that a) they can think their parents were good people and not just another cog in a system of control which brainwashed them and b) so they can think they're intelligent and logical and haven't just wasted their life believing unfounded bullshit completely unsupported by any science or logic.

The purported record of births and deaths in the Bible leads to the inescapable conclusion that the earth is about 6000 years old. If you define Christian as someone you believes, reads, and understands the Bible, anyone rejecting the young earth claim is not a Christian.

On the other hand, if the Bible is just a collection of allegories, then any conclusion is possible by suitably "interpreting" the text. In that case, Christianity means nothing. You can't have it both ways.

The reality? Most people don't bother examining their beliefs carefully, don't see the contradictions and don't worry about it when contradictions are pointed out. They try to live their lives reasonably and otherwise don't agonize over things that don't really affect them. It's not a bad way to live, but it's not how mankind advances.
