Stolen Patreon User Data Dumped On Internet
After the personal data breach at crowd-funding site Patreon reported a few days ago, there's some worse news: the information isn't just in limbo any more; Patreon reported Saturday that the compromised information has been leaked in the form of a massive data dump. (The slightly good news is that no credit card information was leaked.)
Some prominent users of Patreon have been involved in GamerGate harassment, and others have been victims of that harassment. The hack could be of interest to either side, but is most likely to benefit the victims.
For example, YouTube retards Sargon of Akkad and Thunderf00r use Patreon to make quite a lot of money posting their anti-feminist videos. While they themselves maintain a careful distance from the worst abuse (although Thunderf00t was kicked off Twitter) there is likely to be some damning private messages in this dump that will force Patreon to cancel their accounts and funding. Once the money goes away they will have little reason to go on making anti-feminist videos that whip up anger and which are often cited by the more extreme elements, greatly benefiting the targets of those videos.
Thunderf00t and Akkad seem to fit the definition of Social Justice Warriors. They have a cause, anti-feminism, and love to scream discrimination and sexism at every opportunity. Disagreeing with them invites abuse and attacks from their mobs. So I guess the data dump is an anti-SJW effort, if you want to put it in those terms.
