CodeWeavers To Release CrossOver For Android To Run Windows Programs

An anonymous reader writes: For the better part of three years there has been talk about running Wine on Android to bring Windows x86 programs to Android phones/tablets, and it's going to become a reality. CodeWeavers is planning to release CrossOver For Android before the end of the year. This will allow native Windows binaries to run on Android, but will be limited to Android-x86 due to struggles in emulating x86 Windows code on ARM. The tech preview will be free and once published the open-source patches will be published for Wine.

Holy fuck can we stop piling the legacy Windows shit on everything?

Why the fuck must mobile platforms be made fat and pathetic to keep up this fucking shit of Windows compatibility?

I have an idea, how about we throw away all of this legacy shit, keep a platform which allows us for once to move back in the direction of small apps which do a few things ... and stop this relentlessly fucking pointless SHIT of making this stupid fucking Microsoft compatibility and huge fucking fat binaries.

Now we'll be back to needing 20 fucking gigs for the goddamned fucking OS.

What a fucking waste of fucking resources.

This is why we can't have nice things, because apparently we're beholden to 25 years of detritus and other crap.

Fuck you. Don't want this fucking garbage on Android.
