Pac-Man 256 Coming To PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC With Multiplayer (venturebeat.com)

Pac-Man is coming to gaming consoles. Publisher Bandai Namco announced on Monday that Pac-Mac 256 will be launching on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 21. The VentureBeat reports: The console version of Pac-Man 256 will include a four-player local co-op game where you and your friends will have to collaborate to eat as many pellets as possible while collectively avoiding ghosts. This means that you can have up to four people sitting together on a couch and playing the game simultaneously. Each person controls a Pac-Man, and you will work together to avoid the ghosts. Because it is "local" co-op, this isn't an online mode, and you should instead think of it as something to do at a party... if you're cool like me and play video games at parties.

Shouldn't the name be changed to "Pac-Men"? Or is Ms. Pac-Man an option? So they should go with Pac-People.

Actually, shouldn't Pac-Man be banned? It's racist or color-phobic or something. Only the yellow things are represented as "good". And ghosts are all "bad". Plus it promotes an unrealistic body type and lifestyle. Pac-Man just eats and eats and never gains any weight. On top of that, all he eats are pills. So it promotes drug use. Are those pills certified organic or vegan? It doesn't say so, so they must not be. And we all know that anyone who eats meat is contributing more to global warming. So Pac-Man is a denier too. Anyone who isn't vegan also must be cruel to animals. I'm going to have to notify PETA as well.

I own a Wii U. I feel the same way. Even this game isn't coming to the Wii U. Even retread titles like Zelda aren't coming to the Wii U. Like you said, it's a good thing I still have a decent PC. My kids are likely to skip consoles altogether, having played old school games on emulators and now just attached to their individual phones and tablets. But there's still the "party" aspect of all playing on the same screen that's fading fast, and Nintendo (and others) should know better.

Ha, ha, but no. The FIRST generation was the worst:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

All we had was Pong variations.

I have a PS4, it isn't "all" HD remasters and indie arcade bullshit that one could run on a RPi.

Among the games I have on it, Diablo 3, TESO, Fallout 4, Disney infinity, Rebel Galaxy (well worth playing) The first lego Marvel game, Wasteland, Divine Divinity, War Thunder (with full HOTAS support by the way), Onigiri, Rocket League, Trans-Galactic Tournament (better than Invokers tournament...but I haven't tried Smite yet), the ful PS4 Minecraft (not the cut-down Pi version).

Plus a few HD remasters like Akiba's Trip (also on my Vita) (FFX/X-2 (Also on the Vita), Day of the Tentacle (also on the Vita), Grim Fandango (also on the Vita)

And a bunch of indies like Dragon Fin Soup, Axiom Verge, La Mulan, etc etc. (some of which I also have on the Vita)

You will buy this game on nostalgia alone. You will play it once and convince yourself that you are having fun. During this time, someone will come into the room and you will be embarrassed that you are playing pac-man and you turn it off in favor of one of your 10 1st person shooter games.

The Pac-man game will then move its way to the end of your home row, unplayed, until one night while drunk and hanging with a few equally drunk friends, you bust it out and have a blast playing pac-man with each other.

That moment will be nearly forgotten by the next day and, despite trying to recapture that experience a few more times, you will never succeed.

Ultimately, you will delete the game from your console altogether.

By that time a remake of Asteroids will come out and the cycle will begin anew.
