Russia Says Foreign Spies Plan Cyber Attack On Banking System (reuters.com)
Russia said on Friday it had uncovered a plot by foreign spy agencies to sow chaos in Russia's banking system via a coordinated wave of cyber attacks and fake social media reports about banks going bust. From a report on Reuters: Russia's domestic intelligence agency, the Federal Security Service (FSB), said that the servers to be used in the alleged cyber attack were located in the Netherlands and registered to a Ukrainian web hosting company called BlazingFast. The attack, which was to target major national and provincial banks in several Russian cities, was meant to start on Dec. 5, the FSB said in a statement. "It was planned that the cyber attack would be accompanied by a mass send-out of SMS messages and publications in social media of a provocative nature regarding a crisis in the Russian banking system, bankruptcies and license withdrawals," it said. "The FSB is carrying out the necessary measures to neutralize threats to Russia's economic and information security."
Sounds more like some Russian Trolls got pissed off at smaller budgets/pay and decided to use the EXACT SAME TACTICS against the bosses.
Have been spotted around Moscow with laptops.
The 5th of December is a dutch holiday, where Saint Nicolas gives presents to children. A bit like Father Christmas in the USA. In fact, "Santa Claus" is related to the dutch name for Saint Nicolas, "Sinterklaas".
Nae king! Nae laird! Nae yurrupiean pressedent! We willna be fooled again!
Or a false flag justification for their attacks.

I seem to remember, not too long, some high up Russian official laughing at the idea they would try to interfere with U.S. elections through hacking, or that they were involved with the Wikileaks email, or other related issues in the U.S. I can't remember the exact words but the word "delusional" was definitely in there.
Now, suddenly, Russia is claiming that foreigners are going to supposedly target the Russian banking system and oh yeah, they come from Ukraine.
How odd they should say this. Why would anyone from Ukraine want to hurt their neighbors banking system? As Russia has steadfastly maintained for over two years, they are not attacking Ukraine and no Russian troops are in Ukraine despite the weekly shipments of cargo 200, so why would Ukraine be singled out?
It looks Russia is trying to place blame somewhere else rather than their own incompetence and corruption, not to mention invasion, which is causing their banking sector to forcefully collapse in a manner similar to their ruble which now borders on rubble.
Funny how everyone else is delusional when talking about attacks on their country coming from Russia yet now we're supposed to believe Russia when they single out one particular country for these supposed attacks on their banking sector.

In fact please wipe out all bank loan records and records of liens. The american banking system needs to crater into ashes because it's only a tiny step above organized crime.
Do not look at laser with remaining good eye.
People OUTSIDE Russia hacking Russia.
Russia's name is Earl. Karma's bitch.

Hillary couldn't secure her own email server and you think she has the peeps to attack Russian banking in retribution. Even in jest that is ridiculous.
I find your argument far more eloquent and persuasive that I had expected you to be capable of.
I'm an American. I love this country and the freedoms that we used to have.
The West has to get its hits in now before Trump comes to office and rewards the Russians for their help during the election.

Start World War 3... you're being rediculous.
Your post is blatantly flamebait doing nothing but putting idiotic words into the mouths of the Left that none of them are actually saying.

And yet some how it manages to be more eloquent than yours.
The above just condensed your post down to it's one word base meaning.
Name calling.

Actually, I was thinking it was a false flag explanation to give them cover for the growing insolvency of their own financial system. Blame it on the West, and all of a sudden Putin isn't running Russia into the ground...he's mounting an intrepid defense against a global conspiracy against Russia!

O.K. I do understand that this will reveal my primary school education was not from the public school system and I don't really want to seem elitist by demonstrating my obvious superiority over you. but "name calling" is not one word, it is two.

the Kremlin is still sitting on $390 billion
That's only $2700/capita.
in hard currency
IOW, "something more valuable than rubles." Like US dollars. (That's really gotta chap Putin's ass...)

Once again the eloquent liberal argument has put me in my place. And has shown all of us your place as well.

I pray god that there will be one more bank run. I made quite a lot of money last December, when zerglings stormed banks and currency was traded at 15% spread.
Currency was trading at more like a .015% spread. Retail customers got a 15% spread.
and the above post, the topic of the conversation, was one word.
Kind of a cut rate private school your parents sent you to there given that you werent able to infer that was the point.

Think all those Dem honchos, like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, John Podesta, Jennifer Palmieri, et al are so pissed at being out of a job (DWS' house wages notwithstanding) that they've decided to try looting some Russian banks. But given where the ruble is wrt the dollar, they'd have to loot plenty of it. Maybe try and hack Putin's bank account
It's the same as having a good offense and a bad defense - like the old Oakland Raiders used to have
If only! We'd have a huge Siberia, and not just that, big cities like Moscow would be red, not blue (red as in Republican, not Red as in Leninist)
Thank you for making it clear that it is my fault that your post was so ambiguous.
I'm an American. I love this country and the freedoms that we used to have.
No, no, no, I'm talking exactly about rates on mid-tier interbank currency exchanges that were on that night when people were emptying atms
I was under the impression that the Russian banking system was already in a state of chaos. International banks are fleeing the country, and anyone with any appreciable assets has them stashed in Switzerland.
Some mornings it's hardly worth chewing through the restraints to get out of bed.
Hey no problem, let me know if you need any help reading in the future,

Speak for yourself.
You are not alone. This is not normal. None of this is normal.

It's not looting, it's fake news to create a run on the banks.
None of the people you mention are out of jobs.
It little behooves the best of us to comment on the rest of us.
This means that the Russian banking system is about to crash, and Putin needs to get his cover story "hackers did it" out there better than Hillary did.

The first one ain't. The next 2 are, unless they've gotten something new w/ the Clinton Foundation

I wonder why so many inarticulate angry /.ers seem to have such a thing for this word "butthurt" ... If they want to convey that someone might be feeling displeased about something, but can't be bothered to articulate properly, the word they instinctively reach for seems designed to refer to unwanted anal attention, as if that's the most likely cause of disgruntlement .... and since the immediately preceding event is that the sneerer believes they made a good point and that the sneered-at-one was devastated by it, the inference is that the sneerer is the one inserting their dick into an ass .... "homosexual panic", perchance ? I *do* get it ... it's like saying "faggot", only without having to sound familiar with the idea.
If you don't pray in my school, I won't think in your church.
The Russian economy contracts 0.6% and somehow Russia is insolvent? LJL. Sorry to break it to you but the Kremlin is still sitting on $390 billion in hard currency and a mere 3% budget deficit. Russia is in a mild recession but insolvent it is not.
I don't know where this 0.6% number is coming from, but it's not an annual figure.
