Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources Site No Longer Says Humans Cause Climate Change (theverge.com)
The website of Wisconsin's Department of Natural Resources has been updated with new language and no longer says that humans and greenhouse emissions cause climate change. Instead, the site says that the causes of global warming "are being debated and researched by academic entities." The problem is that almost all climate scientists agree that human-made greenhouse gases are responsible for climate change, and that global warming is a big issue that needs to be addressed. Prior to the revision, the site said "human activities that increase heat-trapping ("green house") gases are the main cause." The Verge reports: DNR spokesperson Jim Dick told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel in an email that the "updated page reflects our position on this topic that we have communicated for years, that our agency regularly must respond to a variety of environmental and human stressors from drought, flooding, wind events to changing demographics." This does not address the question of why the new language implies that we do not know what causes climate change. This is the latest anti-environment move from Wisconsin's government, which has de-emphasized global warming since Republican Gov. Scott Walker took office in 2011. So far, Wisconsin is the only state that appears to be revising its website, but more states could follow suit now that it's clear climate science will be attacked under President-elect Donald Trump.
...in the climategate scandal.
i really don't care what most scientists think, i care what the evidence says. all the evidence. not some of it. not cherry picked (like with the CRU). not evidence that isn't public.
THIS sums up the issues with the science nicely.

Climate researchers massaged data with buggy code, then deleted the original data. Then they conspired to delete documents and data rather than turn them over in response to legitimate open records requests. They also conspire to keep skeptical research from being published, all so they can keep the gravy train running to their dodgy foundations and nepotistic research groups. They truly are the most transparent(ly corrupt) group in the "hard" sciences.
blah blah blah... you sound like a toddler learning to speak.
I don't need a faked up Wiki article, I read everything as it happened at the time. Wiki is not evidence. It's the page editor's opinion, especially so concerning controversial topics (like this case where bad scientists were caught red handed faking shit up). In any other field of real science their careers would be over, but not these assholes.
They're a bunch of liars and frauds, not scientists. They lied, destroyed data, changed dats when it suited them, lied some more and generally acted the same way children do when caught with their hand in the cookie jar, except in this case, these assholes are heavily responsible for pushing a multi billion dollar scam on the western world.
In short, fuck these guys, they should all be shot. Anyone who defends them is either stupid or on the AGW payroll.
They're not denying "the greenhouse effect" you tool.
They're simply saying that the causes of global climate change/global warming/global cooling/whatever the new happy-fun-name it uses today is still being debated. (Fact!)
The entire population of the planet hasn't bought in.
Hell, there isn't even 100% agreement among climate scientists.
And, even if there were, science is about facts and evidence, not consensus. When you start talking "consensus", you're talking politics, not facts. And, when politics are involved, you usually see large amounts of MONEY thrown about.
Coincidence? I think not!
People keep talking about some "point of no return".
Never mind that, given a decent power infrastructure, we possess the ability to artificially sequester vast amounts of CO2 out of the atmosphere into biofuels, while simultaneously ramping up replanting/reforestation efforts and go to town in topsoil production.
All while moving the power economy away from high-CO2 methods like coal, gas and oil and towards CO2-free methods methods like solar, wind, wave, geothermal, hydro and nuclear.
It's silly, self-riteous asshats like you who are poisoning the well here. Simply because the world doesn't arrange itself to your liking.
Well fuck you. You're not a special snowflake and your individual opinion means less than shit. You're just some random douchebag on the internet who "thinks" (using the term about as loosely as possible) that they're somehow special. And that said "specialness" somehow grants you more "rightness" and insight into issues. When, in fact, all you are is a fucking noisemaker that spews shit from both ends and prevents people who actually wish to take REAL action, not just some virtue signaling putzes, from doing so.
If you don't want to be part of an actual solution built on the "possible", and keep trying to hold out for some nebulous concept of "best", you're never going to accomplish ANYTHING. If this is the case, just shut the fuck up and get out of the way while your betters roll up their sleeves and get to work.
Chas - The one, the only.
THANK GOD!!!
Err, no. That's a working hypothesis without any evidence. Of course some scientists are busy trying to manufacture the evidence, mostly by jerking off historical data to make the trend look somehow unusual against the background of natural variation (yea, Schmidt + NASA). The full-retard "there is no natural variation" you saw in Michael Mann's work has largely been forgotten/is not longer cited because he got busted by Steve McIntyre. However it hasn't been retracted because you know, retracting it would be admitting you actually know fuck all - and that would be bad for the rent-seeking business.
Ah well.
