Apple Cuts Tim Cook's Pay After 2016 Performance Falls Short (cnbc.com)

Apple cut CEO Tim Cook's 2016 pay after the iPhone maker missed its revenue and profit goals for the year. From a report on CNBC: Although Cook's annual salary went up by $1 million, he received $8.75 million in total compensation for the year, according to an SEC filing posted on Friday, down from the $10.28 million he received in 2015. Company executives received about 89.5 percent of their targeted annual incentives. The company said its annual sales were down nearly 4 percent, or $215.6 billion, from its target of $223.6 billion, and its operating income was down 0.5 percent from its target at $60 billion, according to the filing.Apple last year faced declining revenue as it grappled with the first prolonged slump in iPhone sales. The salary of some other executives were also trimmed.

republicans are kept under the illusion that 'everyone can achieve the 'american dream' of being ultra rich, but its a fallacy and there are guards (literal and figurative) in place to stop you and I from getting there.

the authoritarian belief system is very powerful and is backed by Big Religion(tm), which also basically owns the R party. funny how that works, huh?

as long as the R's keep thinking that 'its ok that people make 400x of what others make' then nothing will change. they don't believe in the ultra rich paying their fair share of the infrastructure; again, they put themselves in the place of the CEO, in their mind, and they think that if they were CEO, they'd also not want to give up any of their riches to the 'poor commoners'. its a brain disease of sorts, really. the walking retarded. the VOTING retarded! ;(

no, its absurd that we allow people to get so powerful AT THE EXPENSE OF US ALL. but again, we convince our own people (or about half of them) to consistently vote against their own best interests.

Funny how people are more willing to work as wage slaves in shitty jobs that destroy the environment than they are willing to just accept a little help from the government.

In a heartbeat. I'd rather slave all day in a mine to earn a living than accept free handouts from the government (which are ultimately taken from someone else). And I have a feeling the world, and particularly the US, would be a much better place if this were the case.

Thankfully, I think you are the minority if you prefer to live off someone else's money and work. For a good example, read up on history of the Great Depression and how people were desperate for any kind of work to avoid being "on the dole".
