Russian Arrested in Spain 'Over US Election Hacking' (bbc.com)

Spanish police have arrested a Russian programmer for alleged involvement in "hacking" the US election, BBC reported Monday, citing local press reports. From the report: Pyotr Levashov, arrested on 7 April in Barcelona, has now been remanded in custody. A "legal source" also told the AFP news agency that Mr Levashov was the subject of an extradition request by the US. The request is due to be examined by Spain's national criminal court, the agency added. El Confidencial, a Spanish news website, has said that Mr Levashov's arrest warrant was issued by US authorities over suspected "hacking" that helped Donald Trump's campaign.

Which stories in major news outlets about Trump were false, though? Name one.

Not even fifteen minutes after the story is posted and already every top post response is Trump supporters spewing crap about the Hillary emails even though they were not mentioned.

I doubt this is about the DNC emails. This is most likely about the social media and email spamming before the election with fake news that might have used stolen state election information.

Predictable baying of the hounds from the Hillary camp.

Too late to have any real relevance since there's been ample time to create fake evidence.

After months of denying there was any sort of Russian hacking of the election, now this thread is full of Trump supporters claiming that it wasn't "really" hacking. Or that the hacking "didn't matter". Or that "it's only one hacker". Or "you can't prove a state affiliation to this hacker".

The minimization of what went on is a disgrace. Imagine your candidate was the subject of overt interference by a foreign power. You good with that? No? I didn't think so.

The Russians had no business being involved in the election. It's as simple as that. Apparently that is too simple for Trump supporters though, because they keep trying on excuses for size. In the end Trump supporters benefited from Russian interference and that means they are unreliable commentators on the issue, being in a massive conflict of interest. Your judgment and wisdom have been tested and found wanting.

It makes no difference whether the hacking was effective, or swung your particular vote you morons! It is electoral interference and that ought to be a Red Flag, full stop. Sad.

I didn't employ any metaphors. Early warning sign for this post!

i can take your wallet and take your credit card, since you're just going to hand it over to a store anyway.

WTF? That is exactly unlike Hillary/DNC private emails being unveiled in any way. They were never going to be public until made so by the hackers.

Plus as a bonus bit of stupid, do you REALLY hand over your whole WALLET to a store when you buy something?

Hillary lost for a bunch of reasons, including...

The most bullshit list of excuses that have ever been assembled. Even in the heyday of the Chicago stockyards you would have been hard pressed to find a mound that high.

And ignore all the times where the US interferes in other elections.

What does that have to do with OUR election? It reenforces my point because the way WE messed with other people's elections was nothing like how ours was affected.

They hacked the mail servers, current law is that is a crime, they should be punished.

Well isn't that special. When did I say they shouldn't be punished? I'm just pointing out the fallacy of saying the election was "hacked".

Brilliant, you have absolutely no evidence therefore he's guilty.
