Theresa May Loses Overall Majority In UK Parliament (cnn.com)

Prime Minister Theresa May of Britain has lost her overall majority in Parliament on Thursday, plunging Britain into a period of renewed political chaos less than two weeks before it is scheduled to begin negotiations over withdrawing from the European Union. While May's Conservative party won the most seats, the party didn't win enough to govern without the support of minority parties. CNN reports: It was devastating result for May, who had called the election three years earlier than required by law, convinced by opinion polls that placed her far ahead of opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. The result also plunges Britain into a period of renewed political chaos, with Brexit talks likely to be delayed and May's personal authority shredded. There was already talk in Conservative circles that she might have to resign, less than a year after taking over from David Cameron, who resigned following the Brexit referendum. The pound fell on currency markets in the wake of the results. After the result was declared in her constituency of Maidenhead, May gave a faltering speech. "At this time more than anything else, this country needs a period of stability," she said, suggesting she would attempt to form a government even if her party loses its majority. Corbyn said the early results showed May had lost her mandate and called for her to resign. Further reading: New York Times

Furthermore, the UK is one of the USA's closest allies, not that Agent Orange really gives two fucks about that.

Maybe he has a point. What is the strategic value of the UK? If Europe still mattered, Germany would be the country to consider for a strategic alliance. But now the whole continent is at best a quaint and pricey tourist destination for Arizona retirees bored with Cabo and San Miguel.

I'm still LOLing at the Europeans who are STILL mourning Brexit. Even as the UK is too inept to figure out if it really wants to leave the EU, the rest of the EU is mourning and threatening to part ways. There's growing support for far right leaders like Marine Le Pen in France, who would surely lead France out of the EU if given the chance. Germany would surely follow France out the door, leaving behind a collection of failed states like Greece to wallow in their debt. Any claims that the EU has the largest economy in the world should be qualified by noting that it's not hard to have a big economy when you combine together over 15 nations. The EU is in rapid decline, collapsing due to pure incompetence, excessive regulation, spying on its own citizens, and the ever expanding debt.

Soon the EU will collapse under the weight of its debt as countries scramble to leave. The US is right on the heels of the EU, racking up its own debt while spiraling into idiocracy. Neither the EU nor the US will have significant international influence in the near future.

It is inevitable that Canada will rise to be the next dominant superpower, politically, economically, and militarily. Even if the UK can temporarily rescue itself from the disaster that is Theresa May, the damage is done both to the UK and to the EU. It's a matter of time before Scotland and Northern Ireland part ways leaving behind England and Wales. The rest of the EU is competing to grow its debt and racing to see which nation can become the next Greece. Tired of propping up failed states, it's a matter of time before Germany exits and leaves the rest of the EU in ineptitude. Trump and the Republicans have made the US a joke and a puppet for the Kremlin. Canada will inevitably be the next dominant superpower, and will not make the mistakes of the US and EU.

    Weak and wobbly.

That was the argument against May, but in what way is Jeremy Corbin seen as tougher on terror? Or did the young vote Labour because they now accept a certain level of beheadings in British streets as being the new normal?
