More Than 15,000 Scientists From 184 Countries Issue 'Warning To Humanity' (www.cbc.ca)

An anonymous reader quotes a report from CBC.ca: More than 15,000 scientists around the world have issued a global warning: there needs to be change in order to save Earth. It comes 25 years after the first notice in 1992 when a mere 1,500 scientists issued a similar warning. This new cautioning -- which gained popularity on Twitter with #ScientistsWarningToHumanity -- garnered more than 15,000 signatures. William Ripple of Oregon State University's College of Forestry, who started the campaign, said that he came across the 1992 warning last February, and noticed that this year happened to mark the 25th anniversary. Together with his graduate student, Christopher Wolf, he decided to revisit the concerns raised then, and collect global data for different variables to show trends over the past 25 years. Ripple found: A decline in freshwater availability; Unsustainable marine fisheries; Ocean dead zones; Forest losses; Dwindling biodiversity; Climate change; Population growth. There was one positive outcome, however: a rapid decline in ozone depletion. One of the potential solutions is to stabilize the population. If we reduce family size, consumption patterns don't rise as much. And that can be done by empowering girls and women, providing sexual education and education on family planning.

Ok...I thought "No meant NO".....what more empowerment does it require?

Say no, and quit spreading your legs unless you want to risk having a kid, even with "protection", you can't be 100% sure.

How about "empowering" boys and men too? Give them a heads up on the legal dangers to themselves and their future children if they participate in the rigged game of marriage ( at least in the west ).

But hell, I guess as long as women are looked after it's all A-OK.

The most popular solution to the "Coming Ice Age" was to spread Carbon black on both poles to melt the ice. Aren't you glad that didn't happen? The Club of Rome was a group of Marxist proposing globalization, of course, to solve all the worlds problems. Not very popular these days. The solution to the Hockey Stick was "Carbon Credits", another name for dialectical materialism, this time redistributing "Carbon Wealth" to China, which is now experiencing a huge pollution problem.

You have to give the Left credit for one thing: single minded devotion to their 19th solutions and their "Brave New World".

Tell that to the socialist governments of Europe, Canada, and the US that have idiot breeding programs (welfare/social programs) with multi-trillion dollar annual budgets.

A first good step would be to make welfare go hand in hand with sterilization or some sort of long lived birth control.

Also it would mean cutting off mass immigration since the 1st world has pretty much already decided to reduce it's numbers voluntarily.

The reason microbiologists worry most about pandemics is because of their knowledge of history. The same holds true for others who worry most about authoritarian government.

An accurate review of history demonstrates without question that the biggest killers and threats to humans have come from these two sources, with the possible exception being the Toba eruption.

Authoritarian governments are the main thing we can prevent through vigilance, and they have also been the biggest killers.

Unfortunately, the primary promoters of CAGW support, witttingly or unwittingly, an authoritarian world regime. For me, its a simple empirical choice: Do I choose the known biggest killer of history (an authoritarian regime), or do I take my chances with a limited power regime that will likely result in continued carbon emissions and the associated probabilistic consequences to the "climate"?

I will take uncertainty over certain death/oppression/misery; my chances are better with that choice if I statistically extrapolate the historical data sets.

That's just math and logic bros.

If leftists really thought that man made climate change is the biggest existential threat to the world they would not be in favor of people from the lowest carbon per capita producing countries immigrating to the the highest carbon per capita producing countries. Why would anyone turn a low energy consuming person, and their future children, into high energy consuming ones? My god, the future of the world is at stake!
