India Now Has the 'World's Strongest' Net Neutrality Rules (cnn.com)
India has just adopted tough new rules guaranteeing an open and fair internet for nearly half a billion people. From a report: The government has taken an "unambiguous stand" on the issue by endorsing net neutrality rules proposed last November, India's telecom regulator said on Thursday. Net neutrality rules require internet providers to treat all online content the same, preventing them from favoring -- or withholding -- access to certain websites, services or apps. The principle is under attack in America, where the Trump administration repealed federal laws last month, but has been staunchly defended in India in the face of attempts by global tech companies such as Facebook to offer stripped-down internet access.
Kudos to them, then.
I've fallen off your lawn, and I can't get up.
As an Indian, I welcome this. I am not against freeing up regulations on internet, however it is better to wait and watch what happens in USA than experiment on our now. Freeing regulations is way easier than allowing something and then bringing in regulations as merits of each side changes.
Someone needs to SEEK AND DESTROY YOU, you fucking piece of garbage.
Dance bitch https://www.youtube.com/watch?... METALLICA SEEK & DESTROY!
Did anybody read past the first three words of that waste of space?
Your reaction got me to read it. Now DANCE bitch https://www.youtube.com/watch?... Metallica Seek & Destroy. Truth of you destroys your kind everytime.
And America is full of freedom, freedom to be oppressed, exploited, abused, mistreated, and all the other stuff that anybody who doesn't all the right qualities deserves.
This is what Jesus wants. Remember that, Jesus could stop all this, if Jesus wanted it.
Thank you. That's good information that's very hard to find.
How about something from Master of Puppets?

California has posted to it's twitter feed that it's "supr jelly of Ndias new net regs... but we like tots got btr env regs n e way! [several unintelligible lines of emojis]" ;)
Anons need not reply. Questions end with a question mark.
Women are still killing themselves over menstruation shame in this country .... net neutrality doesn't impress me in this situation.
I work in the us for an india based company, they are amazing and I can tell you that the u.s. has much to do to even come close to the hi tech explosion and education push happening there. It is embarrassing to be in a country led by such terrible people (trump and republican âyes manâ(TM) minions looking at you).
You also don't have running water and toilets in most houses. People openly defacate on beaches.
I think that should be your bigger concern.
Applaud something good u jealous a-holes..
India has laws/rules on everything - women rights, environment, anti-LGBT (not kidding, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...; however anti-LGBT laws are seldom & selectively enforced), etc. The failure of Indian democracy is in poor/slow/selective enforcement of laws/rules which it already has on the books. These new rules will just add to the existing mess.
I don't see on the first glance any difference to Europe.

Net neutrality can be accomplished with the stroke of a pen. Cultural changes, on the other hand, are much more difficult to implement.
"You're right," Fisheye says. "I should have set it on 'whip' or 'chop.'"
that may be so...But the next time when you browse slashdot over your pathetic connection from Comcast, keep this in mind - Indians have better internet connection than you do.
b.t.w I don't remember seeing any dead menstruating women when I was there last time.
Did anybody read past the first three words of that waste of space ?
Waste of space? Know what else is? Orion's Belt is a big waist of space!
OK, it's not funny. But you have to admit it's a three star joke.
He's getting rather old, but he's a good mouse.
You won the internet!
May God forgive you for that. And forgive me too when I re-post it.
Perhaps in your fancy hotel. All I saw was bone crushing poverty.
Charging more from websites to access your pipes.
India stopped Facebook from offering free services to Indians because their companies couldn't compete with free.
India is heavily censoring social media. Nothing neutral there, usual heavy-handed statism and

The government of India is gearing up to regulate, control and censor everything anyone reads or writes in the most intense manner possible. Presenting them as an example for net freedom is sick.
Let's see if India or the USA have a more free Internet in 10 years down the road. The US with no net neutrality or India. How many real world dollars would you bet it's gonna be *India*?
Come listen to my story of a basement dweller named Jed
A bandwidth poor user, barely kept his porn habit fed,
And then one day his ISP blocked him as a looser,
And up in his email came a recruiter,
With an Internet job that is, requiring net neutrality, broadband.
Well first thing you know ol Jed needed viagra,
His 4chan folk said "Jed move away from there"
Said "India is the place you oughta be"
So he left his basement and moved to Delhi,
New Delhi that is. Outdoor plumbing, spicy food.
That only means that the corporate censors have to justify the blocking. This isn't "net neutrality" that you want.
If only now could the Indian government devote resources to providing with sanitation to the more than 600 million Indian citizens who lack it...
...I'm sure those of the lowest couple of castes (in the caste system the deny still exists) will care much since they barely get food or education...
I know how the left hates Trump, and we all hate the big telecoms messing with the data streams we pay for. But, the Trump administration most definitely DID NOT repeal ANY federal laws EVER. Obama tried it, and many on the left wanted to buy into it, but we have a President, not a King. No one in the Trump administration, including Trump himself has the power to repeal any federal laws.
Do not let your TDS lead you to make ridiculous statements.

Oh ya, I saw that too. But I was in Detroit.

Ever googled "tu quoque" ?
Ever considered that net neutrality may be an important step towards gender neutrality because it enables campaigning for the latter?
