Vine, HQ Trivia Co-Founder Colin Kroll Found Dead of Suspected Overdose (techcrunch.com)
TechCrunch has confirmed with TMZ that Colin Kroll, the 35-year-old co-founder and CEO of the HQ Trivia app and co-founder of Vine, has been found dead of an apparent drug overdose in his apartment. TMZ cites a police source saying cocaine and heroin were believed to be involved. From the report: Kroll was only named CEO of the HQ Trivia mobile game show app three months ago, replacing fellow co-founder Rus Yusupov who moved over to serve as chief creative officer. Prior to taking the CEO role Kroll served as HQ's CTO. He co-founded the startup in 2015, a few months after moving on from Vine -- the Twitter-owned short video format startup which got closed down in 2017. It's not clear who will take over the CEO role for HQ Trivia at this stage but Yusupov looks a likely candidate, at least in the interim.
Kroll started his career as a software engineer at Right Media, which went on to be acquired by Yahoo in 2006. From then until 2011, he led the engineering team in Yahoo's search and advertising tech group before joining luxury travel site Jetsetter as VP of Product -- where he went on to be promoted to CTO. In 2012 he left to start Vine with co-founders Dominik Hofmann and Yusopov.

Yahoo has made so many imbeciles rich (except for their shareholders). As soon as I see someone made their fortune from Yahoo, I flag this person as a well connected incompetent.

Reminds me of the Google exec, hooker & heroin (except he was a married man & Google's surveillance on their yacht iirc caught it all). That, imo, was worse - family involved. The "beautiful people" who F up large (maybe it's what DROVE them more than anything though - it's possible - it reshapes your values to "only dope") - more to LOSE, bigger fall etc.

It faded in the 90's afaik (much less of it, sometimes in "artsy/fartsy" types though, theater etc. sadly) - then, a co-worker of mine in my last full-time job I worked said it was back. I was like "You GOT to be kidding me" & he said "WTF? Are YOU ASLEEP?? It's everywhere" in 2008 - I said "I don't 'run' w/ junkies so I have NO idea!" well now I do since then.
I've seen it TEAR APART families near me in my neighborhood & spur a CRIMEWAVE that's unbelievable to the point of others BLOWING others away over it, undoubtedly.
I saw oxycontin almost tear apart another relative of mine. Younger. He had the WILL, strength & RESOLVE + common-sense to PULL OUT before it took away his collegiate academia & leave him in TONS of debt (I mean TONS) - now, he rocks the planet clean for decade++ now & I'm proud of him.
I saw it DESTROY 2 roommates of mine too over the past decade - guys w/ potential. One even ROBBED A BANK, got put on probation + time served... only to be CAUGHT on a bank robbery 3 yrs. into that 5 yr. term BY DNA EVIDENCE.
I bet, knowing him, he was thinking "Ha, I got away w/ it" - no you didn't.

I smoked meth with Colin just a couple days ago. This hits close to home. If anybody has any questions, I'll try to answer them.
According to TMZ, it was his girlfriend who called in the wellness check.
That said, the incel community tends to have a bit of a crab bucket mentality--wait, no, that's insulting to crabs. It's not a Good Idea to let them know you're leaving because you realized growing the fuck up (or even just basic self-care) was a good idea and hey, awesome, you're able to get a girlfriend! While it is going to be less entertaining to us incel watchers, going ghost for your exit's probably safest.
Though ODing fatally with the cops refusing to even confirm that yes it was your girlfriend you called it in isn't a bad alternate either. Might not keep your grave from being vandalized, but...you're dead, odds are you won't care. And hopefully nobody'll dox your girlfriend which will keep foamy-mouthed incels from bothering her...but you're dead, odds are you won't care about that.

We need more junkies to go balls-out and fucking overdose hard enough that Naltrexone won't save them.
Honestly, a municipality could invest about 1/2 as much as they're spending on treatment programs in free heroin giveaways, and in less than a year they could probably mostly shut those programs down.
Sure, trash pickups would spike, but I think that's a one time cost.
Why do we try to save addicts again? Let them go. There's 7+ billion people on the planet, we can start letting the marginal ones slip away.

I TRIED to set an example & INSPIRE him. His Dad even asked me "what do I do?" & I was like "WTF? You're asking ME?? Ok - what is practical that has a future he's into, you get a match & pour gas on it to IGNITE that fire & frown on ones that aren't achievable for him" that aren't practical.
Fact is, many times & ESPECIALLY recently, He told me that I've helped him thru life (not as much as he says OR that I might've really imo) as I should being family (& I just felt it's my duty to do so best I can - avoid this, do that type stuff - I may not get it right FOR YOU, but odds are I will, & you'll make OTHER 'mistakes' (that's life, right?) but these, avoid like a plague - ESPECIALLY in college or you will be a SLAVE TO DEBT, forever & unable to finanially escape it).

P.S.=> Things DO have a way of working out - do I believe it's Edgar Cayce (hellish reading that, try it out) "your role's already written"? The rich white liberal SJWs love the foreign invaders because they think it gives them cheap labor. However it is not the elites jobs being taken away. The elites dont have their communities being changed to the point they can no longer understand the ligua being spoken.
The rich Romans also loved the cheap Germanic labor that they brought in to do the jobs they did not want to do. Worked for a while, but over time the Germans ended up taking replacing the Romans all together, rich and poor. Maybe if enough of the elites have their families disrupted they might realize they are on the chopping block also. DRUGS ARE BAD, and so are the people bringing it in to sell to your grandkids.

I don't know...if I had as much money as this guy had after being anointed a Twitter billionaire, the last thing I'd be doing is overdosing on drugs. If you're that rich you can pay for a non-contaminated known-good supply...and probably have a crew of people managing your intake.
That, and why is it that celebrities and rich people feel the need to do destructive things? Especially suicides...it just boggles my mind. You get these rockstars who have millions of fans, people of the opposite gender throwing themselves at them, and enough money to buy anything, go anywhere and experience anything...and they're depressed? It's inconceivable. Depression is not a disease of the fabulously wealthy. Money like that would solve any personal problem I had instantly.
