NT4 and Dial-Up Connections

I work as a tech for a small company and we are trying to set up individual NT 4 Workstations that are on an existing LAN, to connect to a local ISP. Each system is using a local modem, but when it calls up and connects it cannot resolve the DNS. It can however resolve the ip address (ie www.microdorks.com doesn't work but 204.127.189.1 does). Is this something that cannot be done without a seperate profile for the modem off the network??? Do I have to make adjustments to the server? As this is happening with a number of configurations (different proxy's, system designs etc), I was wondering if there is a quick and dirty solution. Any help would be appricated."
