Geeks in Space 7: Cardboard Box
The 7th Seal has been opened-yes, that's right it's time for the most-weekly Geeks in Space. We talk about Mark Hamill's lack of career, sock Athlons, the new super-palmtops, with almost nary a mention of the Krull Invasion.
Thanks for another great one. It looks like there is a slashbox on the way too. I selected it in my preferences but it doesn't show up yet. This will make it much easier once its up and running. By the way, how big was that cardboard box? Washing macheine size or more like a match box?
Um, why would anyone reply to a Geeks in Space? I mean, it's simply a discussion about stories that have been run, hence already discussed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Geeks in Space as much as the next guy, simply because it's interesting to hear those guys talk about junk. They're kinda funny, or somethin'.
;)
Being discouraged by lack of responses would be silly - there ain't much new news in it.
I agree with what has been posted, it's all been talked about before in their stories and the following relevant postings. So why not change the format of the show so that you talk about other things, one idea is to look at an aspect of computers or whatever that hasn't been looked at yet. If all things fail try comedy sketches. Then you can have the catchprases.
'YOU can use it over the Internet?'
Jeff - 'I like pretty' (in a slow drooling voice)
Or do a soap opera about slashdot, where you could have CowboyNeal blackmailing Rob for a Sony headmounted display or else he gives Jeff the secret videotape of him and Jeff's Tux soft toy in compromising positions. Then at the end you could have the monologue 'Will Rob find the secret videotape in time, will Nate realise that Microsoft are watching his every move, and will Jeff and his secret spy hole be found out. Tune in next week for the thrilling answers'.;-)
For my money the above should get some more posts and a good discussion. But then I guess I'm a weird guy with way too much time on my hands.
