  1. Re:The Report on Scientists Offered Cash to Dispute Climate Study · · Score: 1

Little bit off-topic: I've watched the press conference this morning on BBC and CNN (switching between both) and was highly annoyed by the presentation of both broadcasters. The scientist who spoke after Dr Rajendra Pachauri (don't remember her name) presented the synopsis of this report on slides - and instead of focussing on these, showing the statistics and charts she referred to while speaking, I was presented a total of her face most of the time. What was the regisseur thinking?

Hum, you're right. I must've mixed that up with the sentence before that about digitally broadcasted TV. It's stupid, nonetheless.

  3. Re:DVD/VHS comparison? on An Essay On Subscription Television · · Score: 1

Well, he said digitally broadcasted TV would look worse than VHS, but still, you have a point. At least here in germany digitally broadcasted TV looks far better than VHS, even the terrestrial one, which generally suffers from low bitrates. That claim was quite stupid.

So, what if your Neighbours post a video of you "filling up" the door handles of their car on the Internet? You'll be the weirdo then...

You're 100% right about King Kong. I still can't believe that he managed to make an "extended edition" out of the original three hour theatrical cut... and I can't believe I have it sitting here waiting to be watched, too.

    > well I did't know what kazoo was either. Me neither. This thing looks more like a device to consume crack with, than a musical instrument.

If you're trusting the Autopatcher people, fine. It's just that you can get the same result more secure with just a little bit more effort from that open-source heise script.

If I understood the information on the website correctly autopatcher is just a collection of the latest MS updates from a third party. With the offline update scripts from Heise you're able to create your *own* autopatcher collection from scratch. No middleman involved.
