What about the case he has pirated copies of 4 or 5 different pieces of software ? Is his system nuked at the 3rd overall violation or on the 3rd violation on the same software ?
Outook with preview pane on will trigger this... Even if someone barely selects the message to delete it immediately. Other e-mail clients probably do the same.
Further, people might simple be opening the e-mail to search for the remove link:-)
But isn't the army using more and more off the shelf software ? We had some great stories on Slashdot in the past about that. I don't see how academic software would be much worse than Microsoft software...
